Washoe Med Unveils New Name
After 140 years, Washoe Med changes its name to Renown Health.

After 140 years, Washoe Med changed its name to Renown Health. Hospital management says they've worked with a marketing firm, and spent a year researching the new name by surveying employees and community members, and holding focus groups. They say they wanted to change the name to better reflects the skils, expertise and technology offered by the facility.
Renown Health will also take on a new color scheme. Washoe Med's blue and white decor will switch to purple and gold. Signs, uniforms, and all stationary will be reprinted. All Washoe Med gear, like clothing, will be shipped off the the Philippines and given to charity.
