A man accused of escaping from the Washoe County jail pleaded guilty to the charge moments before his trial was to begin.
Milton Plummer, 32, changed his plea Monday in Washoe District Court. He faces up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines when sentenced Dec. 12.
Plummer was being held on burglary charges when he broke through a barred window and used a bed sheet to escape from his cell in August 2001.
He and an accomplice were arrested five days later in California.
Jennifer McElroy, 26, pleaded guilty earlier to aiding and abetting an escape. She was sentenced in August to up to seven years in prison.
