A 33-year-old man wanted in a fatal Reno hit-and-run accident was arrested in Phoenix, officers said.

Victor Razo is accused of running down Louisa Cagwin, 71, of Mill Valley, Calif., while she was crossing a street July 15 in downtown Reno. She later died at a hospital.

Reno police referred questions about his Friday arrest to the Phoenix force. But a police spokeswoman there said she could provide no details of the arrest until Monday.

Authorities said the 2000 Suzuki sedan that hit Cagwin belonged to a 68-year-old Reno-area woman whose home was invaded by two men June 11.

The woman was left handcuffed for nearly 24 hours before family members discovered her.

The intruders ransacked her home and stole her vehicle, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office said. An investigation continues in the attack.

Razo also is suspected of robbing a resident of the Ace Motor Lodge in Reno after the fatal crash with the pedestrian and a police chase, officers said.

Reno police said Razo was being sought on an arrest warrant for robbery.

Officers reached speeds of up to 40 mph during the pursuit, which lasted about four blocks.

The driver and passenger fled after the Suzuki crashed. The passenger was later located and questioned but not immediately charged.
