A small plane crash at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport shut down the airport's largest runway for two hours.
The plane landed just before 6:30 p.m. The Airport Authority says the small plane's landing gear malfunctioned and the plane had to just skid to a landing on the largest of the airport's three runways.
Three people were inside that plane and all three walked away from the crash unharmed.
However, it took investigators two hours to examine the wreckage and then clear it from the runway and during that time, many inbound flights had to be diverted to nearby airports like Sacramento and Oakland.
Many flights were also unable to take-off during that time because some of the larger planes can only take-off from that runway. The airport authority says Southwest Airlines was the most affected by the closure.
The runway reopened just before 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
