The general manager of Harrah's Lake Tahoe and Harveys Lake Tahoe has been named to oversee all Harrah's Entertainment Inc. properties in northern Nevada.

Don Marrandino will become senior vice president of Harrah's Northern Nevada, which includes the hotel-casino in Reno.

Michael Silberling, general manager of Harrah's Reno, said having a Northern Nevada chief is something of a return to the corporate structure Harrah's had when he came to the company about a decade ago.

"As our company has grown, it's become very challenging for one division president to manage so many different properties," Silberling said. "It seems like he's going to bring a tremendous amount of experience to the company as far as marketing expertise."

Marrandino most recently served as executive vice president and general manager of Wynn Las Vegas. Before that he was president and chief operating officer of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, president of East Side operations for Station Casinos, Inc. and senior vice president and general manager of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino before its acquisition by Harrah's.
