Fallon Cancer Cluster

Fallon residents can rule out the nearby naval base as the cause of a childhood leukemia cluster that's plagued the community.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human services has been investigating the Naval Air Station in Fallon for any possible chemicals released into the environment.

Friday the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry
reported that there are no past, current, or future public health hazards from exposures to Naval Air Station-related substances in the environment.

The health agency tested groundwater, soil, and air related to
jet fuel and emission by-products.
