Update: The Nevada Seismological Laboratory is reporting a 3.8 magnitude earthquake Thursday at 12:48 PM. The temblor is said to be centered about 33.5 miles southeast of Hawthorne, Nevada.
RENO, Nev. – The Nevada Seismological Laboratory reports a Magnitude 4.0 earthquake located about 40 kilometers south of Mina, Nevada near Coaldale Junction at 7:29 a.m. Thursday morning. The earthquake happened in a remote area and there are no reports of damage. Scientists say event is an aftershock of the Magnitude 5.1 earthquake on February 12, 2013.
The event was reported felt as far away as Silver Peak, Nevada.
