An unidentified man is in custody tonight for allegedly starting a brushfire near Horseman's Park in southwest Reno.

The blaze, which scorched approximately 2-3 acres, began Monday evening about 8:30 p.m. in a brush area near the park off Manzanita Lane.

Witnesses to the fire say they saw a man near the fire when it began. When Reno police responded they found the man who, they say, was carrying three lighters at the time.

Firefighters say the fire was possibly caused by a lighter.

Reno police have not identified the man as yet and don't know if he may also be responsible for the Robb Fire on Peavine Mountain. The man is currently being questioned and could face felony arson charges.
