A suspected shoplifter who dropped her purse while struggling with a security guard was arrested for attempted strong arm robbery, authorities said.
Reno police said Lauren McCray, 40, was caught shoplifting at Gottschalk's by store security Saturday afternoon.
When store personnel tried to detain her, police said McCray fought with security and escaped in a pickup truck.
During the scuffle, she apparently dropped the stolen loot and her purse, which contained her identification, police said. McCray was arrested later in the day.
She also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident for allegedly hitting a car in the parking lot while making her getaway, police said.
