A man accused of illegal drag racing was arrested after he crashed his car while trying to flee from officers, police said.
Luis Quiroz, 19, was arrested early Sunday on charges of felony eluding officers, reckless driving, no proof and insurance and two outstanding warrants.
Officers were called to Golden Valley north of Reno around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of street racers.
Police said Quiroz drove his car at one officer's patrol car and then veered around another at a high rate of speed before taking off on U.S 395.
The officers followed him but called off the pursuit because of public safety concerns after a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper clocked the fleeing vehicle at 120 mph, police said.
The suspect's vehicle was found crashed near the Oddie Boulevard off ramp a short time later. Quiroz was located nearby after a search of the area, police said.
