Nevada will receive nearly $18 million in federal grants from the Department of Homeland Security.

Nevada's Congressional delegation made the announcement today.

The money will go toward first responder preparedness and enhancing security at critical infrastructure facilities during heightened threats.

The Nevada Division of Emergency Management will get the money later this week.

Nevada has already received close to $25 million this year for various Homeland Security programs.
