The Washoe County School District has hired a consultant to help rezone middle school boundaries.
The move comes after a readjust of high school districts two years ago resulted in lopsided enrollments, with Hug High at 60 percent of his former enrollment and McQueen bulging at the seams.
Middle school boundaries were last drawn in 1994, but lines north of the Truckee River will be redrawn to accommodate a school in Spanish Springs that is scheduled to open in fall 2004.
School district spokesman Steve Mulvenon says a readjustment of high schools could come later.
