Washoe County Sheriff's search and rescue crews are working a stretch of the Carson River near Dayton.
They are looking for an unidentified 19-year-old man who was swept away while wading in the water Monday evening.
The man was last seen around 7:30 p.m. Monday going into the river after his dog. The man was reportedly with his brothers, his step-mother and some friends.
Lyon County Sheriff's deputies say the family is a local family from the Dayton/Silver Springs area.
Washoe County Search & Rescue is assisting at the request of the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.
Officers are walking the river and have divers in the water.
