Reno firefighters pulled the body of a man out of the Truckee River late Thursday afternoon.
A passerby spotted the man near the Wells Avenue bridge around three o'clock. Police say his description fits a 59-year-old homeless man who had been treated and released from the hospital Wednesday night, after a fall.
Blood was found at the scene, and police say it is consistent with that injury. They now believe the man may have died from a pre-existing medical condition, or possibly passed out then drowned.
They say his death doesn't appear suspicious.
The man has been identified, but police aren't releasing his name until his family is notified. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning.
