According to a poll released today, Secretary of State Dean Heller and Assemblywoman Sharron Angle are in a dead heat in their Republican primary race for the Second Congressional District seat.
With primary elections scheduled for Tuesday, Heller and Angle
were each favored by 32 percent in the poll conducted for the Las
Vegas Review-Journal and K-V-B-C--T-V.
Former Assemblywoman Dawn Gibbons - whose husband, Jim, is
vacating the seat to run for governor - received 19 percent, while
16 percent were undecided. Glenn Thomas and Richard Gilster split
the rest.
The survey of 400 probable voters was conducted Monday through
Thursday by Mason-Dixon Polling and Research. It has a margin of
error of plus or minus five percentage points.
In a poll commissioned by members of Nevada's gambling industry
and conducted late last month by Washington, D-C pollster Peter
Hart, Heller had 35 percent to 19 percent apiece for Angle and
Gibbons.
