FALLON, NV - A former Fallon High School coach has pleaded guilty to one count of child endangerment a charge that stems from a party she hosted last January. A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped by as many as five boys at that party.

Tami Peel admitted to the charge, a gross misdemeanor, at her arraignment Tuesday morning before Churchill County District Judge David Huff. She had previously pleaded guilty to 5 misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

An investigation by the Attorney Generals office determined Peel purchased liquor for the party that was held in her home.

Tuesday’s plea was the result of a negotiation between her attorney and the Attorney General’s office. Sentencing is set for Jan 27th. The gross misdemeanor carries a possible sentence of 1 year in jail and a $2,000 fine.

The Attorney General’s office is prosecuting the case because of potential conflicts of interest concerning the Churchill County’s District Attorney’s office.

An investigation into the alleged sexual assaults continues and further charges could be filed as early as this afternoon.

Deputy attorney general Rhonda Clifton called the case a tragedy for everyone involved, the community, and especially the victim.
