A mandatory boil-water order remains in place at least until Friday for the areas west of Kingsbury Grade.
High water levels at Lake Tahoe caused a pipe to corrode, which allowed groundwater to leak into the community drinking water supply last week.
About 2,500 homes and businesses in the areas of Kingsbury Grade, Lake Village, and Kahle Drive are under the order.
The pipe has been fixed, but officials are asking that those customers in the Kingsbury Grade General Improvement District continue to boil their water for at least one minute, before using for everyday activities like brushing teeth and food preparation.
Officials say they will continue to test the water for any traces of groundwater, and that they expect to lift the order no later than Friday.
