RENO, Nev. (AP) - Two newspapers are reporting the Reno Aces have picked their manager for the new Pacific Coast minor league baseball team affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Brett Butler was an outfielder for the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers during the 1980s and 1990s.
The East Valley Tribune in Mesa, Arizona first reported that the 51-year-old Butler will replace Bill Plummer. Plummer managed the Tucson Sidewinders last year before team owners announced they were moving the AAA team to Reno.
The Reno Gazette-Journal also made these reports Tuesday.
Aces General Manager Rick Parr says he is aware of the report but can't confirm it. He says the team's coaching staff will not be made public until next month.

IGT has paid a secrect bonus to all Managers and some key employees. The employees were told not to say anything because of the announcement of forth coming layoffs!! i.e. small programming depatment non manager/supervisor recieved $9,000 bonus. I know this because my cousins husband works for this small group and she was bragging up a storm. If IGT was so concerned about their employees why not forgo the bonus and keep more employees!! You guys should investagate this story. I am sure IGT will deny it. But you should be able to interview some employees that will tell you about it. My cousin had loose lips!!
