RENO, Nev. (AP) - Two newspapers are reporting the Reno Aces have picked their manager for the new Pacific Coast minor league baseball team affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Brett Butler was an outfielder for the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers during the 1980s and 1990s.
The East Valley Tribune in Mesa, Arizona first reported that the 51-year-old Butler will replace Bill Plummer. Plummer managed the Tucson Sidewinders last year before team owners announced they were moving the AAA team to Reno.
The Reno Gazette-Journal also made these reports Tuesday.
Aces General Manager Rick Parr says he is aware of the report but can't confirm it. He says the team's coaching staff will not be made public until next month.
