SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - Consumer electronics retailer Circuit City says it will close 155 stores nationwide, including one in Sparks, and lay off about 17 percent of its domestic work force in an effort to cut costs and return to profitability.
Circuit City also said it will further reduce new store openings and plans to work with landlords to renegotiate leases, lower rent or terminate agreements.
The electronics chain has more than 700 stores nationwide. The company says stores targeted for closing will be shuttered by Dec.
