Containment is expected by 6 p-m today of a wildland fire south of Reno on the Nevada-California line.
The Jackass fire in the Desert Creek area near Wellington has
burned about 62-hundred aces since it broke out Monday afternoon
from a lightning strike.
Cloudy skies and sometimes heavy rain has helped firefighters
over the last few days.
Fire officials plan a community meeting tonight (Friday) in
Walker, California, to brief residents on the status of the fire.
Walker is on the west flank of the fire line.
