A woman is hospitalized and a man is in jail after crashing his car into the woman's Reno home.
Police say 26-year-old Julio Chavez-Valencia of Reno is charged
with felony drunken driving causing substantial bodily harm, felony
hit and run and felony reckless driving.
A 26-year-old woman in the house was hit by flying debris and
maybe part of the car. Police say she received serious internal
injuries and is being treated in Washoe Medical Center's intensive
care unit.
Chavez-Valencia also was treated for injuries.
Reno police got a call from construction workers in the area of
the Spaghetti Bowl about 20 minutes after the crash who said a man
walked into their area and claimed to have been involved in a
fight.
Police say Chavez-Valencia's description matched that of the
suspect and the resident of the home he hit identified him in the
hospital.
