Nevada Panel Mulls Cuts In State Employee Benefits
A panel formed by Gov. Gibbons to reduce government waste is considering major reductions in state employee health and retirement benefits.

PLEASE... the insurance coverage for state employees is terrible to start with! Those of us who are retired are having a hard enough time getting by. Retirees don't get raises of ANY kind for 3 years to there income, then it's only 2%, not anywhere near the cost of living. Now they want to reduce our health benefits? I stuck with my state career for 30 years. I was promised certain benefits if I stayed the full 30 years. Now most of the benefits are gone or so severely reduced that most of us have forgone going to the doctor and have very limited funds to enjoy retirement. And by the way....those of us who stuck it out for 30 years DON"T have social security or medicare to fall back on. Any for those who do have enough time invested in Social Security will only get a max. of $400. Where's the fairness and the promised benefits for those who dedciated their careers to the State of Nevada?
