An overnight fire gutted a Sun Valley home and sent one woman to the hospital.
The fire broke out just after midnight at a house located on Spring Valley Circle. Firefighters say when they arrived; the kitchen and living room were engulfed in flames.
Three adults and two children were inside the home when the fire started. Everyone got out safely, as did all of the family's animals.
One person was taken to Washoe Medical Center for smoke inhalation just as a precaution. Authorities declined to identify the victim.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
