A shooting early this morning has led Reno Police to cordone off an area around the interesection of W. 7th Street & McCarran Blvd. in northwest Reno.
Police indicate that one man was shot and transported to Washoe Medical Center for treatment, however no further details about the extent of the man's wound(s) or his identity has been released.
There is no identity on the shooting suspect at this time.
Police think the suspect is possibly in the Terracina Apartment complex, located on Sierra Highlands Drive off W. 7th Street. SWAT personnel are on the scene and the entire area cordoned off.
Traffic restrictions are in place, with W.7th Street closed from McCarran Blvd. to Escalera Drive. Sierra Highlands Drive between W. 7th Street & Mae Anne Avenue is also closed to traffic. Police ask motorists to use alternate routes when going to the area.
