Carson City would boost its parking ticket enforcement ranks under a proposal to be considered by the Board of Supervisors.
The proposal would empower sheriff's department volunteers and
other civilian employees to write parking tickets, thereby freeing
up deputies to respond to more pressing calls.
Supporters said it also would improve the odds of getting a
ticket if your meter runs out or you park illegally.
Employees with several other city departments already have the
power to write citations, but don't necessarily patrol for parking
Supervisors will consider the proposal on Thursday.
