A new fire is burning out of control at this hour near Winnemucca and has destroyed nearly 900 acres, shutting down Interstate 80 near Mile Marker 168 in both directions. The flames have since jumped the Humboldt River, and even threatened homes earlier. The nearby correctional center also had to be evacuated. Investigators believe the fire was caused by the hands of man.
