A California man was killed when he was swept down a waterfall on Lake Tahoe's west shore.
Lake Tahoe State Park rangers say the man died yesterday after
being swept down Eagle Falls at Emerald Bay.
Rangers say the man was unable to get out of the creek at the
top of the falls and fell 40 to 60 feet to his death.
The victim's name was withheld pending notification of family
members.
Similar accidents have occurred at Eagle Falls in the past,
usually when the water flow is very high and the water is very
cold.
The spring runoff now is near its peak after another unusually
snowy winter in the Sierra.
