An attempted armed robbery left a Reno business partially charred on Sunday, and police continue to search for the suspect.
Police say the suspect used gasoline to light the floor of the Dolex Dollar Express on South Wells Avenue when the clerk refused to give him money.
Two truck companies and three engine companies from the Reno Fire Department responded to find the front office engulfed in flames. The clerk was able to escape unharmed.
Firefighters attacked the blaze using a ladder truck and prevented it from spreading to any nearby businesses. However, the business did suffer some smoke damage to the second floor
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 30 years old, 5 feet 11 inches, and 180 to 190 pounds. He was wearing a white tank top and blue jeans, and was last seen on foot westbound on Pueblo Street.
Reno police say this may be the same suspect who threatened to set another check cashing business on fire about six months ago.
