A Reno judge says there is enough evidence to hold a Reno man over for trial in the beating and rape of a casino worker. Twenty-six-year-old Antwon Maurice Bayard appeared in court Tuesday afternoon for his preliminary hearing.
Prosecutors say Bayard is the man who sexually assaulted and robbed a young female employee at Harrah’s, back on May 26th.The alleged attack happened in an employee-only restroom on the hotel's 4th floor.
Bayard has been appointed a public defender. If convicted, he could get up to three life terms, without the possibility of parole. He's also facing battery and assault charges, for allegedly attacking an officer while in jail.
