RENO, Nev. (AP) - A new report from the U.S. Census Bureau shows
Nevada has one of the highest rates of people without health
The data compiled by the Small Area Health Insurance Estimates says nearly one in four Nevada adults younger than 65 lack health insurance.
The report also says about one in 10 Nevada children are at or near the poverty line and have no insurance.
Nationally, Nevada ranks ninth for the percentage of children at or near the poverty line who are uninsured.
Health officials say lack of insurance means more trips to emergency rooms and higher costs for everyone.
