Nevada voters are getting more attention in the final two weeks before the election.
A large crowd is gathering this morning at the Dandini campus of the Truckee Meadows Community College north of Reno to see and hear former president Bill Clinton. Meanwhile local Republicans are preparing for an early morning rally at the Reno Sparks Convention Center tomorrow featuring Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
The former president will be a late arrival flying in from a rally this morning in Elko.
Yesterday he spoke at a Las Vegas High School. Clinton, who some say has not been the most enthusiastic surrogate for the Obama campaign emphasized issues rather than the candidate, saying on the issues of the economy and health care alone it was a clear choice.
This will be Palin’s second stop in northern Nevada since being named John McCain’s running mate. In an satellite interview last week, McCain told KOLO 8 News Now he expects to return to Reno during the campaign, but no visits have been announced. Obama appeared at a rally on the university campus three weeks ago. A spokesman for the Obama campaign said today it’s not known if he will be making another campaign stop here.
