The Canada Goose that has been living on Virginia Lake with a crossbow bolt pierced through its back is recovering after enduring surgery Friday afternoon.
The goose is recovering nicely at the Humane Society after having the missle removed, which had been shot through the area above its tail and exited near its neck.
Wildlife officials say the bolt could have been lodged in the goose's body for several weeks. They say the goose will eventually be healthy enough to be re-released back into the wild.
