Authorities arrested six people during a Street Vibrations rally in Virginia City on Saturday afternoon.

At one point, Sheriff's say there were 11 thousand bikers on Downtown C Street.

According to the Storey County Sheriff's Department, authorities arrested one man for hitting an officer when deputies were investigating a domestic dispute. Officers also booked two people for driving under the influence and arrested several others for disturbing the peace and indecent exposure.

Several SWAT team officers carrying automatic weapons were there to help contain the big crowd.

Who's idea was it to invite these THUGS into OUR town every year anyway?? Maybe they should go to Gerlach and hang with the burners instead of stinking up the Truckee Meadows...

Not much of a story other than an attention getter. Swat being there is another over reaction by the law enforcement. Reminds me of Laconia, NH 1965, the National guard were just having manuevers that weekend in the middle of one of oldest and biggest motorcycle rallies in the country. By 10 PM the guard was crashing through the crowd at Wehrs Beach and shooting at motorcycle riders on the highway. The cops started the ruckus by driving a civilian car through the crowd with disregard for anyone in the way. Laughlyn 2002 gave the cops reason to act like the Gestapo at all the biker events. How many SWAT teams were at the Candy Dance in Genoa?

I think that for anyone who was there, like myself, the police were very professional and restrained. They only intervened in obviously illegal, or dangerous situations. Considering there were 11,000 bikers, much alcohol consumption, the fact that there were only 6 arrests is amazing. A great time was had by everyone I saw. It was a wild time, but not over the edge. I even saw some smiles by the police. PS If what I spent was the average amount that I biker spent in Virginia City, the total for 2 days would be about 2.7 million to the business' and residents of Virginia City. Congratulations.
