Firefighters were getting the upper hand Monday evening on a 38-acre brush fire that broke out in Pleasant Valley, south of Reno.
Officials say a construction crew working near Galena Creek
accidentally sparked the blaze underneath a bridge construction site for the Interstate 580 project.
Fire trucks were providing structure protection for nearby homes
but no evacuations were ordered. Fire bosses also called in some air tankers for an aerial assault.
The fire was completely put out by Monday night, but crews are still on scene mopping up and will remain just in case it flares up again.
