It's a gorgeous weekend for a barbecue, but you may want to check your grill's make and serial number before you fire it up.
The Reno Fire Department is putting out a warning tonight about a voluntary recall of the "Nexgrill Brand Gas Grill," model No. 720-0025.
Here in Northern Nevada, the gas grills were sold at Target stores from December 2003 to March 2005.
If you own one, the fire department says to stop using it immediately, and call (888) 361-0888, and the company will send you a free heat shield self-installation kit.
The recall was prompted by at least 31 incidents nationwide, including 28 fires and several injuries.
The grill has a hose that connects the propane tank to the burner. If the hose runs too close to the firebox, the hose could detach or melt, causing a gas leak and a fire hazard.
