One man was killed and another hospitalized Friday, after an early morning boat crash on Lake Tahoe.
A Washoe County Sheriff's Deputy, on routine patrol, noticed the remains of a crashed speed boat sitting high on some rocks near Sand Harbor. Upon further investigation, the deputy found one semi-conscience man.
The unidentified man told the deputy there had been another man on the boat with him, and they collided with the rocks around midnight.
Deputies searched the area and found the body of the second man, in the water near the boat. The survivor was airlifted to an area hospital. The extent of his injuries remains unknown.
The identities of both men are being withheld, but News Channel 8 has learned both are from the Tahoe Basin area.
Deputies believe speed may have been a factor in the accident.
