UNR Student Wins First Miss Nevada Latina Crown

RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 22-year-old University of Nevada, Reno student has won the first ever Miss Nevada Latina pageant, and will represent the state in a nationwide contest.

Linda Valencia won the title over 10 other entrants on Saturday.
The Las Vegas native says she is excited and plans to represent all
Latinas well.

Valencia won a $1,000 scholarship.

Another UNR student, 19-year-old Stacy Miller, was runner-up.
