From studying insects, to inventing new technology, their love is science.
A Fernley student Tuesday received a scholarship, that will help him pursue his science education
Trevis Mathues is the Newschannel 8/ Desert Research Institute's "Science Student of the Year".
Trevis was entered into the running, by being selected as one of the Science Student of the Month for his project on the "urban heat-island effect" studying how cities & towns, influence temperature.
This wiz-kid is hoping the $2-thousand scholarship from NewsChannel 8 he won tonight, will help him pay for tuition at either MIT, Cal-Tech or Berkeley.
