The Central Lyon County Fire Protection District has declared the Sugarloaf Fire 100 percent contained after it charred a total of 134 acres in the hills north of Dayton. One crew will remain on scene to ensure that there are no potential hot spots.
Fire Officials believe that it was caused by juveniles playing with fireworks, although they are continuing the investigation.
Crews who worked the fire are Central Lyon County Fire Dept., Nevada Department of Fire, Bureau of Land Management, Carson City Fire Dept., Storey County Fire Dept., and Mason Valley Fire Dept.
