The Reno Police Department conducted a DUI and Seat-belt checkpoint on Sunday at 4th and Park Street. Almost 2,000 vehicles passed through the checkpoint from 4 pm to 10:30 PM.
Forty-two citations were issued for not wearing a seat-belt, and four citations were given for unrestrained children. Five people were cited for not having their driver’s license in possession, and three people were cited for not having insurance. One person was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant. Two drivers were given field sobriety tests, but both of them passed.
The checkpoint was paid for with funds from the Weed and Seed Grant and was put into effect during the national Click it or Ticket campaign.
