The public is invited to participate in different ceremonies held throughout Reno and Fernley, in honor of military personnel who have lost their lives.

The following events will take place on Monday, May 29:

The Sierra Interfaith Action for Peace will place over two thousand flags on the lawn in front of the Federal Building downtown started at 10 AM. Each flag will represent a soldier killed in Iraq.

There will be a ceremony in North Reno at the Sierra Memorial Gardens at 11 AM.

There will be another ceremony also at 11 AM at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Finally, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at Powning Park in Downtown Reno, starting at 1 PM. A new plaque will be dedicated, honoring Nevada military personnel who have lost their lives in combat.
