Firefighter's Union Votes No Confidence in Chief

RENO - The Reno firefighters union has voted no confidence in its fire chief, 287-13, approving a resolution to censure him. According to the union, Chief Paul Wagner continually made bad decisions regarding the safety of his firefighters.

A union spokesman says, many times, firefighters are sent out on building inspections, delaying their respponse to fires. The union also accuses Wagner of misleading the community about fire response times.

The union says they are not necessarily looking to fire the Chief, however, they will not support a candidate that does not seek Wagner's replacement or resignation.

Chief Paul Wagner is expected to give a statement later today.
