Firefighters Vote on Confidence in Chief

RENO (KOLO) -- Members of the firefighters union say firefighters have voted on whether they have confidence in Chief Paul Wagner. The results are expected to be made public on Wednesday.

The ballot firefighters voted on says, in part: "Chief Paul Wagner provided inaccurate information to the City Council, the media, and the public regarding response times..."

Firefighters contend building inspections sometimes take them out of their districts, putting them farther from fire scenes.

Union members were asked if they agree areas are being left uncovered. They were also asked and if Wagner's support of the inspection program led to the loss of homes.

Firefighters also voted on whether Wagner is unwilling to resolve grievances.

Wagner plans to make an announcement following the release of the results.
