Vandals Cut Tahoe Phone Lines

AT&T crews hiked into a remote area 19 miles east of
Placerville, California today to repair the damage. Service resumed
in some areas between Placerville and South Lake Tahoe this
afternoon and is expected to be fully restored by Tuesday night.

The line aparently went down about 8:30 Monday night when someone cut into both the copper cables and fiber optic lines at a remote
location.

AT&T is offering a five-thousand-dollar reward for information
leading to the arrest and prosecution of the vandals.
