Sparks police are looking for a Hispanic man they say fired about 13 shots into a crowd after a rodeo at the Gandolfo Sports Arena let out last night.
They say a horse was killed and several people were injured,
most of them in a fight that led up to the shots being fired.
They say one person was grazed by a bullet and the horse was
killed instantly. Its rider was injured when the horse fell.
Witnesses say the incident began when a group of fifteen to
twenty individuals entered into an altercation with another group.
After the two groups parted and walked toward their vehicles,
the suspect returned with a handgun and began firing
indiscriminately into the crowd.
Police said the suspect is a known gang member. The victims
apparently are not.
