Seventh graders gathered inside the school gym to listen to Erahm Christopher's presentation on bullying. He says when he was their age he didn't tell his parents much, even if something was bugging him.

"I was an actor, I could act like nothing was wrong."

The director from Canada talked about the film he produced by teens and for teens on bullying. The film called "Teen Truth Live" is a frank discussion of why people bully and what it feels like to be on the receiving end. Its something many of the kids could relate to. Some would tell me they've actually bullied in ways they never thought about.

Kenneth Malizia is a 7th Grader at Mendive.

" What happens I probably won't do it anymore. Beat people up? No just call them names a couple of times."

The film takes a turn halfway through showing images of the Columbine Massacre which occurred nearly ten years ago in Colorado.
The bloodstained library and broken glass, a dozen students and one teacher died in this shooting when two students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold entered the school with guns and explosives.
Christopher asked the assmbly,

"Have you ever punched kicked or shoved someone, called them names, spread a rumor about somebody."

Christopher told the seventh graders journals from the two showed they were bullied their resentment and anger he said turned into rage and destruction. Can it be prevented, yes Christopher said, if students respect each other, are more inclusive, and talk to adults when they or someone else is in trouble.

Hayden Casey another 7th Grader says he's going to think twice about his actions, because they have dire consequences.

" because you know it really makes me think I shouldn't be bullying anyone anymore because I know that the next day there may be showing up to school with a gun."
