Nevada Attorney General's Office Investigating State Official

The Nevada Attorney General's Office is investigating a state security official, accused of trying to embezzle money and falsifying records.

Randy Potts, Chief of Security for the Department of Information Technology, sought $1,700 in reimbursement for expenses of attending a homeland security conference in November. What makes his behavior suspicious, however, is this conference was actually held earlier in the year, and Potts allegedly altered the date on a flier to gain permission to attend.

Potts has been on administrative leave since the formal investigation began.
