Sunday between midnight and 6:00 am, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Pyramid Lake Highway (SR445) near mile marker WA 21.
Russell James Boyle of Reno of operating his 2007 Harley Davidson Sportster northbound on SR445 approaching Ironwood Rd. The motorcycle drifted off the east road edge and continued down the steep embankment.
At approximately 6:45 a.m., a NHP Trooper patrolling the area noticed the gravel debris, caused by the accident, in the roadway and a boot on the east road edge. The trooper peered over the embankment and discovered the accident.
The trooper and responding EMS personnel determined Mr. Boyle had been dead for several hours. Evidence at the scene suggests alcohol may be a factor in the accident.
Other evidence left at the scene indicates a possible witness to the collision. The evidence is being sent to the Washoe County Crime lab for processing.
