GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) - A thief has made off with an unusual item from a Douglas County woman's car: a braid of hair intended for a nationwide group that makes wigs for children with cancer.
Nancee Goldwater had a 25-inch braid of her hair cut in late July to donate to Locks of Love.
But she says when she went to her car to ship the braid earlier this month, it was gone. Nothing else in the car was taken.
Goldwater says the theft is pointless, and she's asking for the
public's help in locating the braid.
Locks of Love makes human hair wigs for children who lose hair to cancer treatment.
Goldwater has donated previous braids of hair to the group and is letting her hair grow for another donation.
