Daryl Mack, the man who was convicted and sentenced to die for raping and killing a Reno woman in 1988, has been executed after refusing to file available appeals.
More than two dozen people gathered outside the Nevada State Prison in Carson City to protest the execution. The group was led by Father Chuck Durante, a local Catholic priest who began the peaceful protests in the mid-1990s.
Mack was pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m., Wednesday April 26th.
